Pakistan is now moving towards 5G which is a welcome thing. With the advent of 4G, the world has become much faster. According to Verizon, the speed of 4G is 500 times faster than 3G. Also, 4G revolutionized the smartphone industry and a boom came to see in freelancing as well as other digital businesses.
Now, The 5G is in the line. The ministry of information technology and telecom has announced that it aims to launch 5G in 2023. The USF has also begun work on Deep fiberisation to provide telecom services and the internet in the backward areas of the country.
5G will play a key role in the evolution of Digital businesses. The speed of 5G is much time faster than 4G. According to Qualcomm, 5G delivers peak data rates up to 20 Gbps.
5G is designed with faster speed and the ability to reduce latency. After 5G, not only the internet speeds will increase, but a new era of opportunities will start.
Syed Amin ul Haque, An information technology and telecom minister said that The government heavily focusing on increasing IT services up to 5 billion dollars by the end of 2022-23.
We will ensure fast and affordable internet in small towns and I am sure that the girls from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit Baltistan areas will be able to excel by working as a freelancer, he added.
This is a good thing but Pakistan is far behind the world in terms of 5G. According to the report of GSA, more than 58 countries are using 5G.
South Korea is the first country who adopt 5G in April 2019. Norway, Sweden, Hong Kong, and some other countries are using high-speed internet which is equivalent to 7G.
A Country that ranks 5th in the world in terms of population, and 4th in the world in terms of freelancing but still using 4G which is disappointing.
