In the 41st match of the T20 World Cup 2021, Mohammad Rizwan batted against Scotland and scored 15 runs, and became the first batsman to score the most runs in a year. Muhammad Rizwan broke Chris Gayle’s record by scoring 1676 runs in one year.
In 2015, Chris Gayle set the record for most runs scored in a calendar year. Gayle had 1665 runs in a year in T20 matches.
In 2016, Indian Great Batsman Virat Kohli Scored 1614 runs in one year and secure the second position. On the other hand, Pakistan captain Babar Azam is the 3rd batsman in T20 matches who scored 1607 runs in a single year.
Muhammad Rizwan not only broke the record of Chris Gayle but also surpassed Virat Kohli and his Teammate Babar Azam and became the first player to score the most runs in a Year.

After that, Rizwan broke another world record of Virat Kohli which is The highest T20 Career Averages. The average of Virat in T20 matches is 52.01 and Rizwan broke this record after making unbeaten 79 runs against Namibia in T20 World Cup 2021 and set his average on 52.66.
Rizwan scored ten fifties in one year that made him the first player of T20 who made ten fifties in a year.
